Visit to the "machine" By: Valeria Román
The world's largest scientific experiment is, from the outside, a lot of buildings separated by streets, on the border between Switzerland and France. Accessible only as a scientist or as a guest, documents, and after looking through the iris detectors to confirm the identity of each person. Surrounded by streets bearing the names of renowned physicists, living together 2,000 researchers from 34 countries and hundreds of universities and laboratories. Despite all the sophistication of the experiment, there is room for traces of humanity. In the control center kept a bottle of champagne that all were taken in October 2008 to celebrate the official opening. One detail: all are upset if a reporter asked about the "God Machine." For them is the "Large Hadron Collider" or LHC. Religious words here are misplaced. 31,03,10
