masters and disciples.
the injured published this :
how proudly and fiercely defend and proclaim who have been or are our teachers and how easily we become self-taught many famous when they went up to the hump. For many it is very difficult to digest that has learned from someone who generally always above them.
's an interesting thought, though I've never met any dancer who criticize their teachers, or remove their importance, I imagine that happens though I have not lived. Instead, I come to mind are several reasons why a dancer may seem "self", at least in regard to the time in which many dancers do not go to regular classes.
First, the lack of advanced level classes. It is difficult to find and often are oriented to form the Society of Master. That's not bad, but it leaves orphan to advanced students who do not want to integrate a company.
The second, the lack of funds. A semi-professional dancer arrives just enough to renew costumes, and fancy, normal thing, go to intensive where learning new things with new people. The 30 euritos ronde monthly pay regular class a week supermarket. Is to think about it.
Third, a simple matter of marketing. If your students trust you and you tell them you are going to classes Laila, Laila think that obviously it is better than you and made you go professor. Or, almost like a recommendation.
addition, there is sometimes a matter of difference of style. For example: The first teacher taught you that you had a lot of Egyptian classical ballet. Change your school, discovered the American Cabaret. When you have developed your own style, you see that you're more comfortable with folk airs, but I like to have basis of other styles and teach in class. Saying "Student of Isis" and "Student of Rachel" when you dance has nothing to do with them creates false expectations among the public and the students. Then
apart are the envy and jealousy, but that better not speak, do not lead anywhere.

Similarities and differences between flamenco and oriental
An easy way to take mysticism or racist-sexist aura of oriental dance is compared with flamenco, as we have many a time. "This is what the Arabs dancing at weddings, like Gypsies, flamenco is a bit gross simplification, but we used to walk home.
is not all there. Some similarities:
- They are both considered exotic dancing and quite misunderstood outside the home.
- dances are sensual, stereotypically used to seduce, sometimes for "femme fatale" (Salome, Carmen).
- You can dance alone group and, rarely, the oriental dance in pairs and mixed groups.
- Both have complex rhythms. Both are collections of different dances grouped under the same label.
- The two differ in style of folk dance (domestic) and for the stage. Variety
important
-Eastern dance, and almost all the flamenco, has been developed by the Roma.
Differences:
- male Oriental dance is half missing. Flamenco dancing by men, no.
- Flamenco has not entered into serious conflict with the Church. There have been occasional prosecutions, but to summarize, flamenco is not a sin.
- A consequence of this is that the public has flamenco in her home country, people who are not artists but public. Countries of origin of belly dancing have a problematic relationship with the professionalization of the profession.
- Flamenco has never been in danger of extinction. I imagine there may be some who say that Golden Age of Flamenco Puro has passed and that the Flamenco Puro has died, but another day I'll tell you what I think of purity.
- The origins of the fusion between flamenco and pop / rock / other music of British and American flamingos are learned these new cultures. Were not created to please the non-flamenco.
- Spain was colonized by foreign powers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The "inferiority complex" of culture that includes flamenco respect to the majority culture in the West exists, but is more subtle because it is simultaneously an economic and military occupation.
- flamenco Religious expression is almost exclusively sung rather than danced. The religious song, but important and varied not considered the source of all others but its consequence. In contrast, the Eastern dance fantasizes about her religious background, with or without historical evidence.
